According to HawkeyeReport.com sources, Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard had sports hernia surgery in Philadelphia last week under the care of Dr. William Meyers.

Dr. Meyers is the leading specialist in the field and has done procedures on NFL players like J.J. Watt, Marshawn Lynch, and Arian Foster in the past.

Beathard, who attended Iowa's basketball game on Sunday, has already started the rehab process and should be back to normal in about 6-8 weeks.
